What makes the beach of San Polo in Bale one of the best seaside spots in Istria?
It is a great privilege for Croatian guests to be able to visit every beach for free. In summer, some of the most beautiful beaches are impossible to access or stay in due to overcrowding. The beautiful, pebbled beach of San Polo is a rare exception.
From the parking lot to the beach on sunny days, you'll be amazed by the turquoise color of the sea, which is a result of the combined effect of the clean sea and the white sand in the bay. There is always shade under holm oak and pine trees on San Polo, and the most beautiful moments are the soothing sunsets that inspire you to stay on the beach late into the night and enjoy the starry sky.
The beach is located in the area of the special ornithological reserve Palud
The area surrounding this beach and the nearby camp is part of the special ornithological reserve Palud, which can be reached via a 10-minute walk through the forest. We ask that you take your garbage with you, be quiet, and protect the environment. Enjoy untouched nature by watching birds up close or with the proper equipment.
The beach offers plenty of amenities
Beautiful natural scenery is not the only advantage of this beach. A free aquapark is within walking distance of the coast, where children can have fun and meet new friends, while parents are always on the lookout.
Beach Bars Vita and Babbaloo Bar serve refreshments throughout the day, while a butterfly-shaped fountain playground is available for young children next door.
Near the beach in the shade, you can find San Pol restaurant which serves pizzas, pasta, grilled specialties, and fish.
Near the beach, blending into nature, is the Bale Aqua and Paleo Park, which features dinosaur-shaped swimming pools.

Everything was better in the past.....unfortunately that is indeed true. before the campsite was built it was beautiful. everyone could stand wherever you wanted. now permanent places with the noise of cover band music from the loudspeaker all day long and for a lot of money per night. no, this is no longer attractive to me unfortunately
It was once a paradies at San Polo. Now is ruled by a gready camping site owner. Even the people who own houses for decades can no longer drive with there cars to the beach but have to walk or pay 5€ to go to Colonne Beach with is less beautiful for swimming and was a port for private ships before. Again an example how you destroy nature and annoye people.
A beautiful beach near Bale. Camp staff suggested us to go to Colone, but you shouldnt take the advice as San polo is much cleaner and prettier. We went to a lot of beaches in Istria but this one is much better.
