Mošćenice
An artistic town on a hill with the view of Kvarner bay and islands
Mošćenice - a medieval, fortified Istrian town located on a 173 m high hill, on the eastern slopes of Mount Učka overlooking the Kvarner Bay and its islands.
Indulge your imagination and let it wander. Wander off to some past "better" times by walking through the city gates along the main street that divides Mošćenice into the upper and lower town, through narrow streets, past churches, gourmet corners, Tonči Adulmar's painting studio where the sounds of jazz will enchant you into thinking you are an artist too. At the observation point in Kosnica gaze into the distance and climb down the 744 steps that will take you to the sea.
If that’s not enough, take the road across Selce to reach the mythological path that will lead you to Trebišće, Pretrebišće and Perun. The Slavic gods Perun, Veles and Mokoš will silently touch and tease you. And you will want to stay in that magical moment where the past and your imagination embrace.
