Momjan
The Castle of Momjan found its place above the river Dragonja
Momjan is a small Istrian town located on a hill (about 270 m above sea level). It is not far away from Umag or Novigrad.
Thanks to the proximity of the sea, the soil in Momjan is perfect for the cultivation of vine, fruit, and olives. The inhabitants of Momjan are mostly engaged in agriculture, rural tourism, and traditional cuisine.
Hospitality, hunting tourism, historical and cultural offer is what attracts more and more guests to Momjan. Here you will find st. Martin's church from the Middle Ages and the remains of a castle that stands above the river Dragonja. The river today represents the border between Croatia and Slovenia.
If you are into hiking, you can visit a hiking trail that will take you to the Cingarela cave and waterfall. This trail is approximately 3 km long (in one direction).
