The Butoniga Lake
Artificial lake created in 1980s
The Butoniga lake is located in the central part of Istria, near Motovun. This lake is artificial and was created in the 80s of the last century. It is used as the water supply for the larger part of Istria. For this reason, swimming in this lake is strictly prohibited.
Lake Butoniga is filled from the Butoniga stream, after which it was named. You can approach the lake easily and have a walk around it.
