If you are thinking of spending a few days in Istria, Bale is the perfect location to stay with family or friends. This stone town is located on the west coast of Istria and is in the immediate vicinity of famous Istrian towns and villages, beautiful beaches and numerous vineyards.
Below, find a list of places that you can easily visit from Bale in four days and enjoy your vacation.
First day: Bale
For your first day visiting Istria we recommend you to spend the day in Bale and its surroundings. In the morning, after breakfast, you can take the train to some of the most beautiful beaches in the surroundings of Bale. There you can enjoy the sun, the crystal clear sea and beach bars.
For lunch we recommend you to come back to Bale and try out some of the istrian specialties in the center of Bale.
In the charming town you can visit numerous medieval churches.
Not to talk about the fact that the lovely city doesn't disappoint when it comes to olive oil tasting, which is why we definitely recommend that.
Second day: Motovun, Oprtalj, Grožnjan
We recommend visiting Oprtalj as your first destination of the day and exploring the many churches that the small village hides.
Next destination is Grožnjan, another small town with a charming atmosphere. Here you can explore the wonderful houses, taste wine, sample Istrian specialties and have lunch with one of the most beautiful views.
On the way back we recommend you walk along the ancient walls of Motovun to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets.
Third day: Pula, rt Kamenjak
After breakfast we recommend visiting the economic center of Istria, Pula. In addition to the Arena, Forum, Castle and other historical sites, consider visiting the Pula market where you can taste Istrian delicacies.
On the way your back drive down the road to Cape Promontore Nature Park.
Explore some of the many beaches, caves, dinosaur trail and when you need to cool off, sit and relax at Safari beach bar.
Fourth day: Poreč, Rovinj
Today we recommend that you visit Poreč. A city located in the heart of the western coast of Istria. A city of culture, tourism, sports and entertainment, it has been repeatedly recognized and awarded for the beauty of its public spaces and cleanliness.
Explore the Roman forum, the Euphrasian basilica, the Gothic palace, and enjoy traditional food for lunch.
Spend the evening wandering the streets of Rovinj's old town, which is full of galleries, and enjoy the view in front of the church of St. Euphemia. On the way back, stop at one of the taverns and treat yourself to dinner in a romantic setting.
