Histria Aromatica
Enjoy the scenery of Istrian towns and coastline as you breathe in the scents of aromatic gardens
This scented oasis is located in the hamlet of Pižanovac, on top of the hill from which there is a magnificent view over the Istrian hills, sea, Rovinj, Bale, and the islands of Brijuni.
At just a few minutes drive from Bale enjoy the scented plantations of autochthonous aromatic herbs, meadows, and forests of Istrian land, as well as the flora and fauna they hide. Here you can also find the impressive dry stonewalls along which the famous iron gate stands out, whilst the “smokvina (fig)” pit is sure to conquer every visitor. Moreover, there is also a karst cave with all of its hidden elements, and the museum currently holds two exhibitions. The multimedia hall is enriched with scent and light effects, and in the shop you can purchase traditional Aromatica products. If you want to learn how these products are made, take a peek in the laboratory, and there is also a restaurant where you really should try some of the dishes prepared from the seasonal ingredients growing on this property.
