The Dušan Džamonja sculpture park
The sculpture park belonging to one of the most famous Croatian sculptors, Dušan Džamonja, is located just 20 minutes away from Bale.
Visit this picturesque place in Istria where the sculptures have been incorporated into the natural backdrop of Džamonja's house-atelier where he lived and created for most of his life. In his works, the artist experiments by combining various materials such as glass, iron and wood, and wire netting, which he fills with concrete. The speciality of his expression is the technique by which iron nails are embedded into wooden core sculptures. The sculptures take on a new spatial look at different times of the day, and they glow with a different shine in every season.
