Bike and hiking trail Parenzana
Parenzana is a railway that connects Trieste and Poreč. It operated only from 1902 to 1935
In those 33 years, Parenzana has significantly contributed to the economic development of Istria because it served for transportation of not only passengers but also coal, wood, salt, wine, olive oil, and much more.
Today, it is possible to cross a large part of the railway on foot or by bicycle and visit some of the following Istrian villages on the way: Buje, Grožnjan, Završje, Oprtalj, Karojba, and Vižinada.
