Sovinjak
A small village famous for its olive oil and fine wine production
Sovinjak is a small village on the hill. It is located about 8 km from Buzet. This place is known for the finest Istrian olive oil and wine. If you find yourself in central Istria at the beginning of October, you shouldn't miss the folk festival Bela nedeja (White Sunday) that occurs every year. The festival is dedicated to wine and it is needless to say that every visitor has the opportunity to try the best wines there are in Istria!
The romantic atmosphere and the panoramic view are what make Sovinjak so special. From the top of the hill, you can admire the winding river Mirna and the village of Motovun on one side, and the village Vrh (Top) that is located right where its name states - above you.
So, if you are around, take a stroll around the Sovinjak streets and visit some of the most famous Istrian taverns.
