After 12 years of our festival taking place in Bale, we are making preparations for the coming summer with the same enthusiasm as in the previous years. And why is that you ask?
Deep inside I’m not an enthusiast; there is only order, work and mind discipline. I have kept something within me throughout the year, something like time. Continuity has always inspired me both as entertainment and as an idea. I have always been interested in longevity, in creative people, our creation in time and in unknown space.
I like reading Supek’s “Trinitas”, over and over again and always discover the huge necessity people have for creating art there. Progress is nothing but a discovery in science and communication through art. It is interesting that I am not a music connoisseur at all. Jazz and I keep a secret that none of us can define. The power of our fraternity Akademija svega has grown over the years, we have expanded throughout the world and the Jazz Festival in Bale, as a concept that was in the making for long time, makes the platform clearer every year…and we are more aware of what we are doing.
This summer will probably be the most powerful festival so far. Intuitively, Melita Lovričević and I have created this year's program not only to be topic-specific but also to be extremely demanding both for musicians and the audience.
The eternal game between performers and audience has given us a clear vision of how together they make a unique organ.
The audience makes a separate instrument without which the creation of music art makes no sense.
Over the years Bale has become a shelter for a number of musicians. As far as I can remember, in the last 12 years, over 700 musicians have performed at the Throne Theatre – a stage of Kamene price and on the large stage in Tomasso Bembo Square. They have made a strong impact on the development of our town, pushing it forward and giving it a sense to the many people who gladly come to visit.
I never mention the line-up. I don’t like to drop names, to point out the great and famous in order to attract people to come and see and listen to this person or that person. No. I let them come and feel the story in its entirety, each of the Festival’s 4 days are equally powerful and connected. Should you happen to miss one, you are sure to be extremely sorry. People from all over the world play here. They come across oceans, over the sea, by train, by boat, by plane…to Bale.
A miracle is set to happen in Bale this summer, from the first to the fourth of August!
That is our small academy.
Our little academic community promises you this.

Lijepo
Dvanaesta godina festivala govori o kvaliteti sama za sebe. Puno uspjeha i dobrih muzicara za ovaj i sve naredne festivale.
Istra i Bale su kao stvorene za ovakav festival. Veselim se Jazz noćima...
